Vycon: Contract Wallcoverings at Their Best

by | Dec 29, 2014 | Business & Economics

Vycon, created by J. Josephson Inc., is one of the world’s largest and most well-respected brands of contract wallcoverings.

Contract Wallcoverings

Contract wallcoverings are commercial-grade wallpapers made specifically for use in high-traffic commercial buildings, such as hospitals, hotels, schools, offices, apartment buildings and shopping centers. As you might expect, contract wallcoverings are a heavier weight and are, therefore, much more durable than wallcoverings made for residential use. In fact, contract wallcoverings are required to have a vinyl surface, and they must pass rigorous physical and performance tests as established by Federal Specification CCC-W-408D.

J. Josephson, Inc.

In 1935, a man named Max Goodman moved from Eastern Europe to Toronto and started a business installing wallpaper to support his family. His son, Gil, expanded the business by opening a retail store that sold wallcoverings from Europe. Years later, Gil began manufacturing wallcoverings, creating the foundation for J. Josephson, Inc., the current business, which is still being led by members of the Goodman family.

Fast forward to 2014, and J. Josephson, Inc. is the largest manufacturer of commercial wallcoverings in North America, with customers in more than fifty countries. Its ultramodern manufacturing plant, located in New Jersey, runs twenty-four hours each and every day. The hallmarks of the company are innovation; modern, elegant designs; and, providing the highest quality products.

J. Josephson, Inc. currently supports five unique brands: Vycon, Bolta, Genon, Tower, and Symphony.

Vycon

Wolf Gordon is proud to carry a large selection of Vycon contract wallcoverings, which are not only beautiful and durable, but environmentally friendly as well.

Staying on top of the latest trends in interior design is a major factor of Vycon’s success. To do this, they have created a nationwide network of design consultants and sales representatives, with whom they work in close contact. This enables them to be ready quickly with the colors and patterns customers want most.
Durability also lends a hand to Vycon’s success. All Vycon wallcoverings can be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution, which makes them very easy and affordable to maintain.

Like Wolf Gordon, Vycon is committed to protecting the environment. Vycon is produced in a state-of-the art facility that meets or exceeds Federal Environmental Protection Act requirements, the Clean Air and Water Acts and OSHA regulations. A closed-loop ink system is utilized in the printing process to facilitate the recycling of all ink. Additionally, an emission destruction process was put into place for two reasons. First, it prevents the release of harmful pollutants into the environment. Second, it creates energy as a by-product of the process, which reduces natural gas usage.

Wolf Gordon’s line of Vycon products are covered by a five-year limited warranty. Order a sample of your favorite Vycon wallcoverings online or visit one of our showrooms.
